a little bit about myself
Known for his fortitude and commitment, Polish composer and
producer Adam 'Adams' Kloc is keen on moving hearts and
minds of his audience. Praised for his skill in thematic
writing, he uses contemporary creative production techniques
for his emotive and exploratory pieces and soundtracks. The
granular, organic productions subtly blending elements of
neoclassical, post-rock, ambient and electronic get elevated
with his emotional, romantic spirit. Taking inspiration from Abel Korzeniowski, Jòhann Jòhannsson, Ólafur Arnalds and
Nils Frahm, he
continues to explore the world of film and TV scores,
releasing under "Adam Adams" name.
Born in 1996 and raised on classic rock, metal and jazz, Kloc
studied classical piano with Ewa Stępka in Lublin. During his
rebellious teenage years, he decided not to continue the classical
path and pivoted to electric guitar instead, which resulted in
founding a local rock band, playing covers and originals. As
a singer and lead guitarist, he led the band to moderate success
in his hometown. He wrote and produced a couple of songs, helped
by Kamil Rak, a music instructor in a local community center.
After the group split, he pursued new musical ventures in a form
of joining - and, with time, helping to run - a high school choir
and accompanying his singing friends on piano and guitar. Not
seeing any enticing prospects for the future in his home country,
young Kloc decided to move to Bristol, UK to study music production
at BIMM University,
where he explored contemporary techniques and discovered his
drive to help tell a story of another medium through music.
During that time, he created art installations, like his
immersive choir piece, and wrote his first scores to short
films.
After graduating in 2018, he began working for James Everingham
and others Bristol-based composers and producers. In 2019, he
released his score to Zapoznałem się z Regulaminem, a short feature produced by K.O.media, which led to
collaboration with Dmango and Psychasthenia - a remix of one of the tracks. 2020 saw the release of RES - another short feature score, which was described as "distinctly
unique but so directly intertwined with the characters and the
story". In 2021, he was a founding member of Lublin Film Society and started ART-IFICIAL CONVERSING
- a collaborative digital art cycle created with Natalia Salwa,
which focuses on communicating through their respective media
and having "a conversation without words", which was displayed
as a VR art installation in October 2021 in Lublin, Poland.
His work as a music tech wizard has made him a part of such projects
as Shimmy: The First Monkey King, Apollo - Missions to the Moon, Planet Earth - The Celebration, and lately - recording and transferring the Royal Albert Hall Organ to a virtual instrument.
